Introduction
This was a fun little evening with a small group (DM, BB, KB, CV/NV/JV/CV). We did some sliders and really fun apps from the group along with a mix of excellent wines. Got to meet Craig's sister, but just didn't get enough dirt on him! Thanks for hosting another fun and memorable evening.
NV Krug Champagne Brut Grande Cuvée Edition 169eme 94 Points
France, Champagne
Light gold color. Drank a glass over 40 minutes. 2013 base, 40% reserve wines dating back to 2000. Really refined with a lot of fresh sea breeze, pear, lemon zest, not really steely but there's a lot of finely chalky minerality. Really nice now, in an unquestionably easy drinking spot.

2015 Do Ferreiro Albariño Rías Baixas Cepas Vellas 93 Points

Light plhs gold color. Drank a glass over an hour plus. Great nose, really floral with a mix of lemon blossom and white lilies; lots of ocean character and oyster shells, lifted, intense with weight and power, ripe apple, grapefruit finish. Very good.

2022 Domaine Tempier Bandol Rosé 93 Points

Light salmon color. Drank a glass over 45 minutes. Oddly, it appears this was my first time with the '22 vintage. I'm gonna have to crack one of my own soon. This was smokin already. Really bright, typical freshness and Mistral air, peach, tangerine, strawberry and blood orange, wispy and lively. Excellent.

1985 Château Pape Clément 95 Points

Dark red color with 12mm bricked transition to clear. PNP, drank several glasses over 90 minutes plus. CS47, M47, PV2, & CF1; this was a oddly and unintentionally an almost a carbon copy blend to the Kapcsandy we drank in the flight. I've really enjoyed this wine whenever I've had the good fortune to have it. Tonight's bottle was in the pocket and right in my wheelhouse. Classic nose that blossoms over 15 minutes with beautiful leather notes, charcoal, damp sultry foresr floor, dark fruits of cassis and cherry. The palate is suave and integrated with super fine tannins, medium plus body, leather, damp earth, pulverized mushroom, cbarcoal, pipe tobacco, pencil, cassis and red cherry, very long. 94+ to 95pts.

2007 Kapcsándy Family Winery Estate Cuvée State Lane Vineyard 93 Points
USA, California, Napa Valley, Yountville
Very dark red color. Drank a glass plus over 90 minutes. CS46, M46, CF6, PV2. Cocoa, tobacco, dark and deep, black and blue, huckleberry, nicely balanced,satiny texture and tannins. 93+pts.
