Introduction
Last day in Tassie so we ran around trying to squeeze in a couple more wineries in
Flight 1 - Bream Creek (11 Notes)
Having tried a couple of good Rieslings from Breem Creek, and because of a few other positive reviews we decided to have a look at the portfolio
Flight 2 - Uplands (7 Notes)
These guys are known as a grower for predominantly sparkling wine producers. They only grow Chardonnay so the Pinot's are from the neighbour grower and all wines are made at the local co-op (which makes wines like the Lowestoft)

2021 Bream Creek Cuvée Traditionelle

bread yeast, green apple, lemon all slightly tart and it's tart on the palate, lean, linear, citrus, soft mousse, no intrusive alcohol warmth, drying mid palate texture. Meh.

2024 Bream Creek Riesling

sulphur, a little toilet water/blossom, green over red apple, almost a little ginger spice note. Medium plus intensity acidity, balanced by a touch of residual sugar, silky rasp, gum grip, muted green over red apple, simple, pleasant.

2024 Bream Creek Sauvignon Blanc
Australia, Tasmania
Gooseberry, fresh grass, blackcurrant leaf, touch of leesy notes, slightly cheesy yoghurt. Juicy tends to medium plus intensity acidity, less green on the palate, touches of passion fruit, tiny touch of texture.

2024 Bream Creek Fumé Gris

blackcurrant leaf, tomato leaf, slightly ashy notes, leesy, bruised melon. Softly juicy, tangy, muted fruit, a little flat on the palate for me. Nah.

2024 Bream Creek Pinot Noir Rosé
Australia, Tasmania, Southern Tasmania
Red hued fruits; red currant, strawberries, a little cranberry, unripe plum. Medium plus intensity acidity, talc textured burr tugs at the mid palate, red hued fruits insinuate themselves around the tannins, persists long assisted by non intrusive alcohol warmth.

2024 Bream Creek Chardonnay

Open three days. Medium minus intensity aromas of stone fruit shows unripe nectarine, cream, slight butter, sweet spice, more orchard than citrus fruit in support; apple, pear. Medium plus intensity acidity, apple over unripe white nectarine, textured rough silk rasp, quite linear, a touch angular, smidge of bitterness on the finish. Meh.

2024 Bream Creek Chardonnay

Freshly opened. Slightly struck match, plenty of sweet oak spice, white stone fruit, slight melon, orchard fruit is more dialled back. Medium plus intensity acid is super sharp, white stone fruit; nectarine, peach, tannins are a little prominent, offering texture burr across the entirety of the mid palate, less linear, more breadth, finishes longer.

2023 Bream Creek Pinot Noir

black hued fruits; berry, cherry, oak spice, slight lactic buttery note, dusty cocoa powder here as well,. Juicy tends to medium plus intensity acidity fruit as per the nose, slight oak bitterness on the finish, smidge of alcohol warmth. Bit on the large side for me.

2017 Bream Creek Pinot Noir Allanbys Hill

Caramel; polished oak, alcohol prickle, black hued fruit is straying to the concentrate/savoury jam reduction; plum, cherry, slight liquorice, Medium plus intensity acidity (or this could be the alcohol) is mouthwatering, lots of woody, powdery tannins caramel, dark fruits less delineated here, falling apart a bit and probably was not that attractive in its prime. Nah.

2024 Bream Creek Lieblich Field Blend

Open six days. Rose petal, orange blossom, tinned pear and peach, tiny sulphur note. Juicy, fleshy, residual sugar moves this to the off dry to the sweet space; more low Auslese over spätlese level, flavours are a little muted on the palate, probably because it's open too long, touch of texture burr on the front of the palate and roof of mouth. tiny pinch of white pepper, sugar is slightly too high for the acidity.
