Been quite a while since I had this. It's gotten better. At this point, it's so obvious that this is not made in the manner of an ordinary rosato -- it's a full-fledged, serious bottle of wine. Still some of that earthy, brothy quality, but also with a lovely perfume and gravitas on the palate. A hair sweet from the fruit, with still-bright acids and a roundedness I find really enjoyable.
Always ticks the boxes. Perhaps the least "interesting" of the four wines we had tonight, but there is something so technically perfect about the winemaking here. Clean, crisp fruit, with a slight tart raspberry profile. Very crisp and far too easy to drink now.
Ridiculously clean for a Musar. Honestly, I would never have gotten to Musar in a million years. There's a very vinous quality to this, and if you didn't see the pale copper colour you would probably this this was straight-up white wine. A touch of earthiness that gives some interest to an otherwise very clean bottle of wine. Truth be told, I was a little sad that this wasn't as funky as I was hoping/expecting.
A very soulful rose. Actually quite clean, with a distinctively intense red-fruited profile. But light on the palate, though there's a lovely minerality coupled with underripe pomegranate-like (but not sour) fruit notes. An outstanding wine for the price.
