Kicking off the proceedings and lovely to have tried this one - I have not tried BDM so old before, though I have a bottle of the 1993 released ex-domaine sitting in the cellar. This was showing beautifully with corn husks, barley, lime curd, sudachi zest, chalk and straw on the bouquet. Palate has great persistence and mid-palate viscosity and density, leading towards a soft finish and just enough acidity to round out the finish. Great showing for a 94!

Generously shared by a new friend met at the restaurant who as it turns out, I am a fan of his instagram account. Classic Prieure Roch signature imprinted all over this bouquet and palate with cherry spice, mulberries, fresh lavender, wet grass, sandalwood and incense smoke. Palate has great concentration and showing good levels of finesse and balance - ripeness and tannins remind you that this is still a 2020 but this was drinking very well.

Somewhat of a coincidental "clos" following the Prieure Roch and similar in vein that the producer signature was very obvious, this was classic Roumier winemaking though pleasantly surprised that this was drinking really nicely. Had a 2002 Les Cras a few months ago that refused to open up throughout the 4 hours that we were drinking it. Aromatic and classic bouquet throwing forth japanese plums, morello cherries, aniseed, violets, earth and angelica root. Palate showing off superb density and focus with silky tannins and a touch of acidity with a touch of ripe and sweet fruit finish. Wonderful pleasure to have drank this today.
If the roumier had a sweet finish, this had a sweet everything! Surprisingly open for a 2012, this was throwing forth kirsh, dark berries, cocoa, strawberries, honey and olives on the bouquet. Palate stunning today with waves of power and crushed red fruit seamlessly balanced with viscosity and acidity. Really solid experience with this wine today!
