Introduction
A group of nine ebobbers in Chicago got together with the idea of assessing 2002 Red Burgundies with the stipulation being a price tag of around $50 per bottle. Ther were a few notable excepctions.
Closing
Overall the group felt the vintage is strong with many age worthy wines. Great fruit and balancing acidity with healthy tannic backbones. Still, as is the norm variation was fairly wide and Nuits was prefeferred to Beaune.
