  • 2018 Domaine Economou Thrapsathiri Odyssey

    Greece, Crete, Sitia

    The wine is clear, yellow colour.
    In the nose, the wines tensity, citrus notes, quince, mineral, a bit spicy, a few oxidation notes in the back, full on fruit though (for an Economou at least)
    Palate shows high acidity, tense, loaded with tannins, same flavour profile, concentrated, compact, quince, lemon notes, long finish
    Give it air, time or both

    The wine shows high intensity, citrus notes, roasted notes, grapefruit notes, dense, thick core, feels a bit more evolved though that it should be
    In the palate the wine shows the same flavour profile but not the same intensity, high acidity, tannic structure, long finish. Again feels a bit evolved, nutty, roasted notes

    The wine shows pale cherry notes, fragrant, candy red cherry, strawberry, pot pouri, a few gamey notes in the back.
    In the palate, the wine shows red cherry notes, cranberry notes, candy notes, cinnamon and clove, strong tannins, high acidity, med body, a bit warm, big VA presence, med finish
