Vertical of Tour de Mons (Margaux)

Tried the 2000, 2009 and 2019 to get a sense of evolution over time. Overall the 2000 was not faded at all, and the 2019 was clearly the outlier in terms of aromas and taste. Tasting with Evi and Sean E.

Evi liked the 2019 best and 2000 least (as expected).
Sean E liked 2009 best, other two a coin toss but probably 2019 next.
I liked 2000 best (also as expected).

  Second try, this bottle was fine. First tasted vs the corked bottle: very easy to tell the difference.
  
  Very slight orange rim, but still very dark. Nonetheless, easy to see color difference vs the other two. Easily the most leather/tobacco of the three. Rich, smooth, not faded at all, but little fruit. I think one can keep for a while yet: it's full and deep and doesn't seem to be going anywhere soon.
  
  Did not decant, as replacement bottle and ran out of decanters. Opened and left in bottle for an hour before serving.

• 2009 Château La Tour de Mons 88 Points

  France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

  Dark purple, looked no different than the 2019. In between the other two in terms of leather/tobacco, but closer to the 2000. The least interesting of the three, as it had lost a fair amount of fruit but was not (yet?) as rich and complex as the 2000. Still a perfectly good wine.
  
  Decanted 1.5 hours before.

  Dark purple. Easily the most fruity and least tobacco/leather of the three. Dark fruits. But not a fruity wine: still typical Margaux with solid tannins, etc.
  
  Decanted 1.5 hours.
