Two bottles decanted together in a magnum decanter for 3 hours. What a gorgeous nose that makes you think of Bordeaux. Cedar, tobacco, gravelly minerality, fine tannins. This was phenomenal.
This magnum was decanted at least 3 hours. It remained surprisingly large. A powerful and old school Napa profile of black fruit, currant, leather, rosemary and scorched earth. Very nice and at least from a magnum there is a long life ahead.
I believe 1 hour decant and then slow O for a few hours. Initially this was large and firm but impressive structure. It did mellow out over the course of the evening (or I mellowed to the wine). I can sense the pedigree but hold for, gosh, 10+ years?

A small pour at a tasting. Amped up fruit compared to Champagne, lots of baking spice, lots going on. Kind of a Champagne on steroids.

A small pour at a tasting. I think the Chardonnay in this makes it more friendly. Waxy, rich, unctuous, spicy and floral with a large presence.
