    Glass: Gabriel Universal
    Popped and poured. Clear, deep golden color. Ripe nose with some caramel develops beautiful balance over time with enough air. On the palate beautiful balance and harmony. Ripe, medium+, perfectly integrated acidity. Wonderful balance and elegance, lacks a bit of tension and energy. Caramel and speck notes vanish with time and air and it gets fresher and very youthful. The structure is simply beautiful and the finish is very long and lingering. This bottle seemed to me at its full peak. Drink now. 93-94

    Popped and poured. Clear, medium citrus golden color. 5 years, sure. 10 years... nah, 21 years? Never!
    Intense, fresh, developing nose with some peach, herbs, mineral notes. Complex and beautiful.
    On the palate very fresh. Nettles, gooseberry, fine stone fruit, lively acidity. Lacks depth and complexity to be truly great, but that does not matter. Such a surprise! Medium, herbaceous finish. 92-93

    Tasted fully blind. Clear, deep golden color. Balanced, harmonious nose with some fine caramel. After some time fine fresh citrus notes emerged.
    On the palate some noticeable residual sugar, hence I guessed a rather warm year... Ripe stone fruit, wonderful mineral core, with time it gets more herbaceous and some lime notes emerged. Very balanced and harmonious. Lacks probably a bit of tension to be truly great. Long, fruity finish. Beautiful experience. 93-94

    Tasted fully blind. Decanted upfront. Clear, deep golden color. Muted nose, very ripe and mature.
    Clearly Chardonnay from Burgundy, mineral, dense and deep. Lacks fruit. Very tight, good pressure, medium length. Certainly very good, but no real fun to drink. 90-91

    Glass: Spiegelau Definition Burgundy
    Popped and poured. Clear, medium ruby-garnet with clear rim. Beautiful nose, lots of red pepper, some green notes from stems, fresh herbs, spices, complex.
    On the palate wonderful racy and ripe acidity and a ripe, silky tannin that gives the wine a beautiful texture. Elegant, fine, herbaceous with a nice tension and energy. Very good length. Upside potential for at least 2-5 years. 94+

  • 2007 Friedrich Becker Pinot Noir Tafelwein 95 Points

    Glass: Spiegelau Definition Burgundy
    Tasted fully blind. What a pleasure to drink next to Hubers Schlossberg. Same color, clear, medium ruby-garnet with some clear rims.
    Wonderful complex nose, fully developed. Fresh herbs, spices, fresh red fruit, mineral notes. Complex perfume.
    On the palate some extract sweetness. Still lots of red fruit, spices, herbs and a juicy, ripe acidity. Perfect integrated oak, silky tannin. Beautiful tension and depth. Very long and complex. Great wine. 95

    What a pitty. The wine had a slight TCA stain which removed fruit and made the wine a bit austere. Otherwise you could feel greatness..

  • 2018 Jakob Jung Erbacher Michelmark Riesling Eiswein 93 Points

    Glass: Gabriel Standard
    Tasted fully blind. From half bottle with screw cap. Clear, medium golden color. Fine, rather youthful nose, deep, complex and floral.
    On the palate deep, elegant, clean fruit, no signs of botrytis, hence I guessed an Auslese. Floral, white blossoms, ripe stone fruit, some exotic fruit, medium+ acidity. Very round and balance, good length. Beautiful wine. I was suprised that it was an Eiswein, because it lacked a bit the electrifying tension of it, but nevertheless a beautiful wine. 92-93
