• 2023 Hetero Wines Sauvignon Blanc Monarch

  Greece, Macedonia, Florina

  The wine shows med to high intensity, green fruit, lime, lemon leafy notes, some grassy, tropical fruit but also flinty notes.
  In the palate, the wine shows sweet stone fruit, nectarine, again flinty, high acidity, youthful, med body, not much grassy here, rather short finish, 13.0%alc

• 2023 Hetero Wines isexy

  Greece, Crete

  This is a blend of 60% Thrapsathiri 40% Vilana
  The wine shows an earthy/spicy profile, green notes, dry herbs, yellow fruit in the back, smells like a greek meadon in the summer (!)
  Palate shows thick fruit core, compact, pineapple, yellow apple notes, full body, mineral, high acidity (that feels out of balance though), med finish
  Tight and austere for now

• 2022 Hetero Wines Anarch rose

  Greece, Continental Greece

  The wine is a blend of 60% Assyrtiko 40% Xinomavro
  The wine shows dried white fruit, red fruit, thick nose not showing much, earthy, nutty, a bit flinty, feels highly extracted
  Palate follows the pattern, ripe and fresh, citrus fruit, med to full body, compact, tense, high acidity, mineral, dense, long finish
  Very youthful still, interesting

• 2022 Oenogenesis Sémillon Mataroa Gold

  Greece, Macedonia, Drama

  The wine shows earthy notes, green notes peel notes, the colour is a bit hazy, nutty, citrus, candied citrus notes, almond, nutty profile, "low intervention" but clean
  Palate shows the same pattern, nutty, texture, underripe green apple, grapefruit note, tensity, high acidity, shows tannins, med finish
  A wine for food, 12.50%alc

• 2022 Oenogenesis Assyrtiko Mataroa Nautical

  Greece, Macedonia, Pangeon

  The wine feels tight and crispy, citrus notes, grapefruit, not as salty as the last time I tasted this, some candied notes, tangerine notes, feels a bit muted
  Palate is mineral, rounder fruit, med body, med acidity, there is a bit of bitterness here, orange notes, med to long finish, 12.0%alc

• 2021 Oenogenesis Merlot Mataroa

  Greece, Macedonia, Drama

  Rustic in the nose, faint red cherry notes, currants, spicy notes, not that pleasant showing oxidative notes
  Palate shows a riper and also rounder profile, red fruit but again not that pleasant, med body, shows some tannins, bitter finish
  There is an old/stale olive and bitter almond combo here, 13.0%alc

• 2022 Oenogenesis Mataroa Rustic

  Greece, Macedonia

  The wine shows very pale colour (although it does seem thick in the photo)
  In the nose, the wine shows ripeness, thick strawberry notes, tomato-like herbal notes, red cherry notes, cranberry notes
  Palate shows the same profile as the nose, red cherry notes, cranberry notes, tensity, high acidity, it shows tannins, vibrant, med finish
  An interesting take on rose Xinomavro, 12.50% alc

• 2020 Oenogenesis Cabernet Sauvignon Mataroa Red

  Greece, Macedonia, Drama

  The wine shows density, dark fruit, currant, plums, prunes, thick fruit core, heavier floral notes, very juicy and surprisingly light (for the variety)
  Palate again is very light, juicy even, with some spark on the tip of the tongue, black fruit, there is some evolution here, candy notes, plums, olives, sour cherry juice, a bit overripe, tannins, med to high acidity, med finish

• 2019 Hetero Wines Xinomavro Monarch

  Greece, Macedonia, Florina

  In the nose, the wine shows juicy dark fruit, black cherry, maybe a bit overripe, VA notes, plums, some liquorice/herbal notes
  Palate shows tannins, more on the old school varietal profile, angular tannins, high acidity, very tight, not really pleasant, stalky notes, med finish. 12.50%alc
