2023 Douloufakis Vidiano Dafnios
Greece, Crete
Citrus, waxy, mineral notes, touch of garrigue, white flowers. Slightly tart and bitter on the palate, citrus and citrus peel, mid palate texture, simple food wine finishes with those mineral notes.

2023 Gaia Assyrtiko Thalassitis
Greece, Aegean, Cyclades, Santorini
A little savoury meaty underpin to orchard fruit, a touch of sweaty notes, rocky minerality. Juicy tends to medium plus intensity acidity, tangy, grippy minerality, quite savoury on the palate as well, touch of tea leaf bitterness on the finish.

Orchard fruit, mineral notes, clean, slightly herbaceous notes, touch of citrus . Lean, tight, slightly tart, mid palate texture, short and finishes bitter. Nah.

2023 Domaine Zafeirakis Malagousia
Greece, Thessaly, Tirnavos
Perfumed, aromatic, floral; slight rose petal, Turkish delight. Equally pretty on the palate, aromatic, mid palate burr is slightly drying, a little unripe lychee and fresh ripe apple, not very long but pleasant enough.

Ooh, quite herbaceous, a little lavender, rocky minerality, almost gorse bush, a little waxy underpin. Ooh, tangy, saline, touch of green herbaceous and citrus. Interesting.

Waxy citrus, slight grapefruit, non delineated citrus. Simple nose. Juicy tangy, plenty of texture, a little lactic note here as well on the finish. A bit odd.

Medium minus intensity aromas but grows with hand warmth, a little non delineated citrus, orchard fruit. More of the same on the palate, tangy, apple lozenge notes in the ascendancy, pretty simple, short. <shrugs>

Low intensity aromas show a little herbaceous underpin, damp cellar (?), non delineated white fruit. Initial sharp attack then falls off a cliff. Nah.

Medium minus intensity aromas of muted white stone fruit but hard work to get anything on the nose. In the mouth it's bitter and dilute. Nope.

Red and blackberry conserve licked off a slate plate, a little savoury spice and baked earth, tart. Juicy, fleshy, fruit is slightly muted, powdery tannins, slightly bitter finish. Hmm.

Earthy & herbaceous underpin to the dark hued fruits, a little dusty star anise. Dilute and freshly tart on the palate, muted fruit, talc textured tannins, persist. Non intrusive alcohol warmth on the finish. Meh.

Dark hued fruit, slightly rubbery notes, touch of white pepper, herbaceous underpin. Nice nose. Juicy, quite powerful, dark fruits, chewy tannins are integrated, gets more savoury on the finish, balanced. Nice.

Medium minus intensity aromas red hued fruit, a little spice, quite a neutral nose and the palate reflects this, lightweight red hued fruit, talc textured tannins, surprisingly simple. Meh.
