Native yeast, unless they need to use a strain they isolated at Heiligenstein.

2 sprays - 500 (compost) and 501 (quartz sand). 501 sprayed on leaves to aid photosynthesis and not for any disease pressure. Nettle teas and such for disease

All hand harvest. No sorting table, all selected at the vine.

  • NV Loimer Extra Brut

    Organic Cert by LACON
    12% ABV, June 2023 disgorgement, not quite falling into full aldehydic mode, but not too far off. Soft bubble and very delicate.
    ‘Sekt Austria Reserve’ - so Traditional Method. 18m on lees, 2 g/l. Zweiglet, PN, w/ PB and Chard. 70% Current harvest w/ 30% drawn off of Solera going back to 2011]

  • NV Loimer Brut Rosé Reserve

    Austria, Niederösterreich

    70% Zweigelt w/ Pinot Noir and St Laurent. 3 g/l. 4/23 disgorged. Considerably less aldehydic than the Extra Brut Cuvée…more mineral driven, more accessible. Much crisper.

    All Estate fruit now (since 2017 when Fred purchased a friends vineyard in Gumpoldskirchen, next to Langenlois.

    Lots of ‘perm’ and mineral aromas. Mineral, pepper, arugula. Lots of character. 11.5% ABV

    Developing flintiness. Concentration. 30% Fermented in 2.800L Foudre. Melon tones to the nose, again, arugula and pepperiness.

    More fruit, less mineral. Round, almost too simple. You can see the grape-iness turning to mushroom.

    Cloudy apple juice color, clean nose, not too GW/aromatic, light band-aid to the finish.

  • 2021 Loimer Pinot Noir Anning Gumpoldskirchen

    Austria, Niederösterreich, Thermenregion

    100% WC, 300L Oak, red cherry, lots of fruit concentration. Cinnamon, super dry, and again, a band-aid note on the finish.
