  • 2020 Thibault Tassin Champagne Brut Nature Les Fioles 90 Points

    France, Champagne

    Medium+ intensity on the nose with lemon, brioche, dustiness, floral, napoleon sweet/sour candy, strawberry, cherry, lemon curd, applesauce. High acidity, medium+ finish. Not as good as the previous bottle

    11,5% abv. 100% Pinot Noir. Degorgement April 2024. 2432 bottles produced

  • 2021 Domaine Jolivet Saint-Joseph Clef De Sol Blanc 90 Points

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Saint-Joseph

    [Tasted blind] Called white Rioja. Medium+ intensity on the nose with apricot, oak, orange peel, roasted nuts, bitter note, cointreau, lactic. Alcohol did show a bit. Medium acidity, medium+ finish.

    Initially too cold, when warmer a bit of a disconnect between nose and palate. 95% Marsanne. 15% new oak

  • 2018 Weingut Keller Hubacker Riesling Großes Gewächs 94 Points

    Germany, Rheinhessen

    This needed a bit of time to open up. Medium+ intensity on the nose with petrol, lemon, a bitter note, ripe gooseberry, slightly unripe mango, orange peel, a green note? High acidity, long finish.

    This evolved from 92-93 when just opened to 93-94 at the end of the evening. Did not further improve on day 2 and 3.

Medium+ intensity on the nose with strawberry, hint of barnyard, slightly reductive, sour cherry, cranberry, gamey, earthiness, licorice, saline. Medium+ acidity, medium tannins, long finish

    Medium+ intensity on the nose with olives, blackberry, bacon, meaty, earthiness, black pepper. Medium+ acidity, medium+ (very finely integrated), very long finish (minutes).

    Such a beautiful structure and so elegant. One more bottle in the cellar
