The Weinhof Waldschütz Roter Veltliner Blanc de Blancs Brut was a surprise as I had never seen a sparkling wine from Roter Veltliner before, and it showed well. The Corpinnat Sabaté I Coca Josep Coca Brut Nature stood out, not only because of its high quality but also because of its great value for money (the retail price is around €25).

Sparkling wine tasting at Post Family Resort, Unken, Austria. Wine 3 of 6. A blend of 85% Xarello and 15% Macabeo. Second fermentation for 72 months, disgorged on 8 February 2023. Apple, pineapple, lime, fennel, butter, nuts, pastry, and biscuit notes. The mousse is medium fine and feels slightly aggressive but should settle with a few minutes of aeration. Complex, balanced, and long. We liked it a lot. Very good value!

Sparkling wine tasting at Post Family Resort, Unken, Austria. Wine 4 of 6. A blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir, with 20% vin de réserve. Disgorged in 2022. Pineapple, pear, biscuit, bread crust, brioche, with medium-level acidity and very good length. Ripe and very autolytic.

Sparkling wine tasting at Post Family Resort, Unken, Austria. Wine 5 of 6. A blend of 88% Chardonnay and 12% Pinot Noir. Light copper gold. Floral notes, red berries, strawberry, raspberry, apple, light citrus, bread crust, brioche, light earth, chalk, and light smoke, with medium(+) acidity, and very good length. The medium-fine mousse is round and creamy. Fruity, accessible, and easy to like.

Apple, some bread crust, smoke, and stony and chalky mineral notes, with good, medium(+) acidity, and very good length. Fruity, balanced, and accessible. Very drinkable. Well-made. Very good value.
