    Beautiful start into the evening. Clear pale golden color. Fine, smoky, slightly reductive nose with some brioche. On the palate with fine mousseux, elegance, fine sweetness, lively acidity, some citrus notes. Round, balanced, beautiful harmony. Needs more time. Good length. 93+

    From Magnum. Clear, amber color. Fully matured nose, caramel, fine nuts, oxidized notes, deep and elegenat.
    On the palate clearly past peak, but still very lively and nice. Very good mousseux, elegant, citric acidity, caramel and honey notes. Good length. 91-92

    Clear, youthful pale golden color. Very interesting, youthful nose with lots of fines Bourbon Vanilla and yellow stone fruit. Deep and dense.
    On the palate very calm, fine and elegant. Finest Bourbon vanilla mixed with yellow stone fruit and liquid stone. Velvet texture, very long and elegant finish. Has years ahead. 95-96

    Clear, medium golden color. Beautiful fine, deep and elegant nose with lots of brioche and crushed stones. On the palate with great energy and tension, combined with pure elegance and balance! Very mineral, clear fruit, some citrus notes, wonderful mousseux, very fresh and young, very long and lingering finish. 95-96

    Clear, amazingly youthful and glowing citrus yellow color. Very fine, airy, complex notes with fine reduction and smoke. Very deep.
    On the palate very intense with great tension and energy. Creamy, but never fat. Oak beautifully integrated and only noticeable as a backbone structure. Long finish. Only minor first world criticism was a bit of a sharp note and that it faded a bit with air. Nevertheless a wonderful Batard. 95-96

    Good tension and energy, acidity is a bit unbalanced. Some red fruit, a bit freaky, very mineral, good length. Good village. 92

  • 2011 Bernhard Huber Hecklinger Schlossberg Chardonnay Reserve 93 Points

    Tasted fully blind. Clear, deep yellow color. Nose with lots of yellow stone fruit and fine oak.
    On the palate at first a bit thin and lean, but starting to roll nicely over the mid palate. German, most likely Huber. Noticeable oak and smoke. Bold, powerful and with a good energy. Good length. Not as exciting as my last bottle. 92-93

    Probably the wine of the evening, where I deviate the most from all my fellow drinkers this evening...
    Clear, pale golden color. Very fine, elegant and deep nose with finest reduction.
    On the palate I expected a powerful monster (in the best sense), but I experienced a very elegant, fine wine that needed full concentration. Fine reduction, beautiful mineral core, very precise and long. What I missed was the tension, pressure and energy that e.g. the Leflaive and Keller provided. Very good wine, but I was not impressed (maybe due to my ignorance?). 93-94

    Tasted fully blind. Clear, pale golden color. Expressive, youthful and red fruity nose with some reduction.
    On the palate the opposite of the Montrachet: Very expressive and powerful. Great tension and pressure, smoky, reductive, very mineral and complex. Still very youthful. Very long. Yes, hard to compare to the Colin Montrachet, but this evening I liked this expressive style better. 95

    Popped the cork in the late morning before the tasting. Clear, pale youthful lemon golden color. Very deep, complex and expressive nose with lots of clear tropical fruit, fine bitter notes, rock flour.
    On the palate with lots of clear ripe passion fruit and ripe peach. Weightless power, tension and energy. Noticeable residual sugar and extract sweetness. Pure limestone feeling. Long, fruity finish. Full peak, but will stay on this level certainly for 5+ years. Best 2010 Riesling I had so far. 97

    Clear medium golden color. A bit muted nose, fine fruit, spices, too young.
    Medium acidity that makes the wine a bit hot with its 13,5% abv. Melon, fine bitter notes, spices. Very deep and dense. Medium length. I guess in a decade this will be much better, so be patient. 91++

    Clear, medium golden color. Fine fruity, herbaceous and rather sweet nose. On the palate elegant, fine bitter notes, fine mousseux. Very fruity, round and balanced. Compared to the Salon, Ulysse and Krug we had this night it was way too sweet and polished. If drunk alone, certainly 95+, but in comparison with the other great bubbles for me "only" very, very good. 94

    Tasted fully blind. A bit hazy, unfiltered ruby-garnet color. Very deep, spicy, herbaceous nose with some red fruit and noticeable brett.
    Very deep and elegant palate. Salty mineral core, herbal and ethereal notes, rather cool and precise. Gets better and better with air and time. Some green notes from stems that gives the wine a nice grip and freshness. Long and fine finish. 94-95

    On the palate unpleasantly sharp, a bit artificial fruit, ethereal and herbaceous. Also a bit hot. Not really my wine.

    From Magnum. Clear, deep ruby-garnet color. Fine floral notes with some green, harsh notes.
    On the palate green, harsh, lean and herbaceous. Don't know what happened... Way too young? Some bottle flaw? Could not sense any TCA. But this bottle had nowhere the greatness of other 1989 LB. It felt weirdly too young and on the other side to tired... What a pitty.

    On the palate surprisingly lively due to the ripe, well integrated acidity, fresh and ethereal. Beautiful grip, good balance, very elegant, fine extract sweetness. Good length. Realistically 92-93, but for the experience I add 1-2 points :) 94-95

    On the palate lots of fine red fruit, herbs, ripe tannin, high, ripe acidity. Nice tension, quite elegant and balanced with a very good length. So surprised to see what it was. It seems the Gantenbein style has finally changed and is getting away from massive, overly oaked Pinots. 93

    Clear, glowing ruby color. Youthful, rather muted nose. Surprisingly lean and elegant on the palate. Not as bold and massive as expected. Some spices, good structure. But also not (yet) as good as the price tag promises. It has certainly a lot of good genes and will most likely be way better in 10+ years. But this night it was just a solid wine that lacked depth, tension and energy to be great. 92-93+
