WOTN for me. Many pro reviews called this dense and powerful, but I found it stunning in its delicacy. The tiny bubbles, super precise flavors of salinity, lemon, apple, and tight acidity demanded attention, more like a string quartet than orchestra. Beautiful.
A seeming contradiction in terms - light and lean yet rich in flavor. The richness comes from the lanolin-like flavor and mouthfeel. We all liked this better with the dish after its intended pairing, which was a chicken consomme with matza ball and vegetables.
I liked this young less than I thought I would. Staw, white corn, flint. Better on its own than paired (poorly) with a chicken consomme. Suspect this will be much better with age.

First time I've opened a personal bottle of DRC, and fortunately, this is ready to drink. Midweight. Dried red fruit, pomegranate, some spice. Lovely Burgundy but one pays 5x for the brand relative to the quality.
Blackcurrant and graphite. Lighter weight than other Latour vintages, slightly to its detriment relative to the top vintages. Very good considering the year.
This bottle seemed on the downswing relative to others several years ago. Lacking in its youthful zest and not yet demonstrating the full power of age. Certainly nowhere close to d'Yquem 2001.
