Flight 1 (2 Notes)

  • 2020 Domaine Bernard-Bonin Meursault La Rencontre 93 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault

Flinty and tropical bouquet showing pineapples, starfruits, cream, chalk and sesame. Palate very forward and showy, good round mouthfeel and texture but also beautifully balanced with a crisp acid spine and lengthy finish.

  • 2005 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage Blanc 92 Points

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Hermitage

Bouquet of waxed fruit, honeysuckle, lychee, mango peel and peanut skin. Palate has a lot of depth and power. These are great wines but it’s not really in my style and preference.

Flight 2 (2 Notes)

  • 2009 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne 93 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

Slow ox-ed for 10 hours before dinner but felt like it needed a decant for 2-3 hours more! Bouquet showing yellow peaches, starfruits, pears, honeysuckle and lilies. Palate showing good ripeness and sturdiness, has the stuffing of the vintage. But give this another 5-10 years!

  • 2002 Coudray-Bizot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes 88 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru

Supposed to have some affiliation with Bizot but this was leagues and miles away from Bizot. Bouquet showing walnut skin, honeysuckle, cheese, starters and pineappl. Palate has focus but a little tired and fading.
