Reductive start, so decanted 1+ hour which mostly helped. Dense and powerful, lots of pleasure could be coaxed out with air. Great weight and length by the time finished.

Array of black fruits with roasted meat, this jumps out of the glass demanding your attention, then shows great persistence through a long, well textured finish that shows silky elegance. Interestingly, this bottle was much better than a bottle tasted in Burgundy last year. By far the best bottle I've ever had for this wine.

I want to like this wine, and have liked it in the past, but the greenness was pronounced tonight. Aromas better than the flavors. OK overall. I'd suggest drinking sooner rather than later while some fruit remains.

Alongside Mugnier 2002 Fuees, a great comparison of nearby terroir and producer style. Both great, this just better. More black than red fruits, but both are there with some meatiness, spice, leather, and brilliant textures. So complete, so composed, great length. OK not the density of a Grand Cru, but otherwise there's not much more to ask for. I last tasted this 5+ years ago and it just keeps getting better.

I thought it likely Pousse for that very reason. Not a powerhouse, but very balanced and enticing already, with some further upside from here.

I have had this wine many times in the past, but surprisingly not in the past decade. Spiced start, this complex, meaty, and layered with a hint of dirt, just so that you know where it from. Very exciting wine now.
