  • 2017 Domaine du Galet by La Gaffeliere

    France, Bordeaux, Bordeaux Supérieur

    From magnum, tasted alongside the 2015 Chapelle d'Alienor from the same producer (also in magnum) - this one is made from more-established vines but a lesser vintage. Consistent with previous notes, offering a good balance between interest and accessibility.

  • 2015 Château La Gaffelière Chateau Chapelle d'Alienor

    France, Bordeaux, Bordeaux Supérieur

    From magnum, tasted alongside the 2017 Domaine du Galet from the same producer (also in magnum) - this one is made from younger vines but a better vintage. Consistent with previous notes, I still feel this might have benefited from decanting, feels more restrained and less giving than the 2017 du Galet, but was VG the next evening with hot rock. Some sediment.
