August 2020 disgorgement. Fresh, bright aromatics with some lemon, minerality; vibrant acidity, low 12% alcohol, great length; long finish. A younger disgorgement and so fairly young for Initial. 94-95
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Stood up for weeks, double decanted off well settled sediment. Light-med ruby, bricking appropriate for its age; aromatic, red fruited, some spices; palate is light bodied, youthful fruit still, alcohol sticks out just a bit, otherwise well balanced and excellent medium-plus acidity throughout; finish is medium-plus length. A very nice Vosne 1er cru. 92 2 hours in bottle, the aromatics are now incredible with classic vosne spice, elegant, balanced. 94
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Red bell pepper, slight vegetal, red fruit; balanced palate, tannins starting to integrate but also youthful, red fruited, medium-plus acidity; long finish. Very nice burgundy, perhaps less stemmy than expected for whole cluster, unless that is the red pepper. 93+
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
Aromatic, sous bois, mulch, cedar, some smoke; medium bodied, elegant, fully mature Bordeaux, medium alcohol, integrated tannins; medium length. Nice mature st. Emilion. 92
Fully mature, integrated red fruit, complex, leafy, a bit of olive; palate is medium bodied, faded red fruit, lovely acid, integrated tannins; medium-plus finish. Really lovely Chave. 94
Cork removed with Durand. Minerality, slight chlorine, nutmeg, cinnamon; palate is medium bodied, elegant, vibrant acidity, youthful sweetness, nice balance; medium-long finish. This seems very youthful and could easily age decades. 93 Day 2: Still a bit on the thinner/elegant side even for a Fargues, still a bit of that chlorine which is a bit more prominent on the palate than I would like; a bit less sweetness on the palate today; medium length finish. 93-, though my palate isn't 100% and I may rely on notes from my last bottle or my next one. Day 3: better again with more balance, less chlorine, great length on the palate. 93-94

Oxidative, lacks a bit of length. This should be better.
