Introduction
Vougeot showing the weakest pair. Boudots much more Vosne than Nuits. Two Leroy VR cuvees are older than one expects but that is perhaps due to the inconsistency in sourcing, as noted in the details below. In a few years, hopefully we can add Richebourg to the crowd.

Cloudy, not made by HJ but can see some stylistic resemblance, perhaps due to the cellar work. Dusty red and dark fruits, raspberries, chocolate, smoke. Spicy between Vosne and Nuits. 92-93

3425/3732, European foil. Somewhat reductive and metallic, with air blossoming into sweet cherry fruit, opulent Vosne spice, sous bois and mushroom. Sweet breath if a touch dry on finish as in this vintage. More Vosne here, excellent balance with rusticity. 94

Blue berry, violet, missing some depth on mid-palate, quite strong in tannin, but soft on palate. Did not hold up well, turning much more rustic and earthy. 92-93

3991/6000, European foil. Rose petal, sweet red fruit, earthy, quintessentially Vougeot with strong tannins still. What a perfumed vintage chez Leroy. 93-94

WOTN, easily. All spice, so Brûlées, sublime impression, coffee, chamomile, rose petal, earthy in the best possible way, so focused with such a spin, roasted game, hazelnut, almond nuts, citrus, so ethereal. Filtered but mind bending as always. 95-96+
P.S. In contrast to the CrosP perfection of this vintage, this is where one really sees where terroirs stand.

00040/1176, American label with long wax. Coffee, mushroom, some soy sauce flavor, sharp cherry fruit, Vosne spice, feeling older than it should be, if still true to terroir with the blossom of spice. 93

00848/2928, American label with long wax. Some white truffle flavors, the broadest wine today a step up above the other cuvées. Rose, cherry fruit, all spice, anise. Linear and sharp with great strength. 95

2022 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Echezeaux 94 Points

04578/23593. Easy to gulp with lifted whole cluster cherry fruit and a touch of woody note, all wrapped in purple flowers and primrose. Echezeaux is really getting better by the vintage. 94
