It has been a long time since dishes astonished us with their diversity of origin and of course quality. A must and worth the hype!

Soft , pale and albeit with some presence is more of an easy going friend than a serious partner especially given the level of the food at Borago. Not offensive but also not memorable. 86 ish

A lot of story here in terms of scarcity, age of the vines and so on. The result however is so so. The colour is a bit extreme more of a pale red to a rose but in the palate is delicate and soft, not confectionery ( the colour would suggest) but also lacks presence on the palate. Interesting to try and the nose does help with its soft red berry feel but needs structure. 88

Good bright and crisp Albariño, aiming to replicate the wines of Rias Baixas and in tha succeeds albeit has nothing to envy from them. Pretty wine, citrus and polished acidity and works well. Well made wine. 90

Proper old vines here and the wine shines. A touch young but probably better youthful in general, cool climate feel, red fruited , soft spice and with good energy. Just lacked , at this stage, a bit of complexity. Good 90

2020 Tabalí Pinot Noir Talinay Pai 92 Points

A proper find and a great surprise to people like us that sort of avoid new world Pinot.
This was more cool climate and albeit has the richness of youth and new world was also restrained and had an elegance to it and harmony. Juicy, red fruits , soft oak kiss but overall very solid and with good capacity to age. Hey we even asked for a second glass of this!! 91-92

The yardstick of good wines of the country and this 2010 , albeit young , showed the beauty of top winemaking. Very much a Bordeaux style albeit blind one would guess North American maybe Oregon made in a classic way. Good dark fruit, light earth, tobacco and spice. We never really look for this wine across the ocean and we ways find it a bit overpriced . Very pretty on home ground though. 92-93

NV Bou Barroeta Gran Pisco Luxstelle

50% and made with Moscatel grapes and one that demands respect. Not for the faint of heart either as this has a full on presence, well aged for 9 years and effectively built to rival the best grappas. Aged dark amber colour, rich nose and a lot of presence. Was a bit too strong for us but we cannot argue with the quality here.

NV Bauzá Don Lorenzo Pisco

Properly made Pisco and very much to the untrained palate a grappa with age on it and had a soft colour to go with it. Polished and welcoming and can be very dangerous as such. Very solid.
