German Spätburgunder 10 Years after

All wines were tasted blind.
The participants knew of course what brought what they brought to the tasting, but none of the other wines.
A semi-double-blind tasting if you will..

• NV Bollinger Champagne PN VZ15

  France, Champagne

  Fresh and slightly floral on the nose.
  Highly complex, with the reserve wines adding extra depth to the aromas.
  
  You can taste the dosage, but it all comes together nicely.
  
  Really excellent.

• 2015 Raumland Pinot Kirchenstück Réserve Brut Nature

  Germany, Rheinhessen

  Nice autolysis notes from the yeast, spicy, very complex.
  A bit harsh and austere at the moment.
  
  It will always be leaner due to its Brut Nature style, but I think a little bottle aging could round it out a bit.

  A little too sweet on the palate. Perhaps best enjoyed soon?

  Lots of tannin, sour cherry, very dark aromas.
  Hard and closed at the moment, the question is: will it get better?

• 2015 Josef Walter Bürgstadter Centgrafenberg Spätburgunder "J" trocken 94 Points

  Germany, Franken

  I love the aromatic profile of this wine!
  Extremely spicy, grilled, smoky, green peppers, juniper berries, a hint of oak.
  Overall, more spicy than fruity.
  
  As Nora already mentioned, the wine has a slightly sweet finish, but I think that suits it well.
