Very pale, translucent, off white. Floral nose, white flowers, honeysuckle. Palate was like mix of SB and PG in a good way, interesting, and with a slightly oily texture to it. No finish to speak of, but GV and a lot of interest for the price.
Wow. Quite light in colour for Chardonnay. No oak. Aged in concrete 'egg'. Notes of citrus peel, smoke and flowers on the nose. Slightly saline with a prickle on the tongue at first. Interesting and quite long. Would not guess Chardonnay or Poland blind for sure! Definitely worth a taste. Fair value. Will likely improve a bit more in bottle but really good now.
Light yellow. Nose a bit dumb at first as wine was quite cold. Opened up to stone fruits, and notes of pineapple. Rounded on palate, clean. No oak here. Quite long finish. Not complex but good value example of Macon.
Denser deeper colour with more purple than the Knipser (same age). Darker fruit on the nose, cloves too but not as much as last time. Tannins quite integrated and not really noticeable. A solid wine, perhaps a little heavier and more spice than previous and later vintages. Enjoyable though. Will have a bit in front of it, but perhaps lacks structure for ageing beyond a couple of years.
Fairly light in colour, pale rim, slight orange but not brown. Not much fruit on nose, spice more evident, also tertiary. Oak less evident than last bottle. Clearly Pinot Noir. Smoother on the palate than last time, tannins not as obvious. Oak there, but more discreet. Red fruits, some nutmeg and slight earthiness. Good drinking now. Will keep going though for a bit. GV.
Deep intense purplish red. Nose quite reticent, probably as it was quite cool, only just opened before tasting and youngish. Malbec evident, other grapes less so, but not as dominant as expected. Quite tannic still (cool temperature). Acidity and tannin suggest that this will improve further for a year or two. Others liked it more than me. Perhaps needed more time to open up.
Double decanted - about an hour in jug. Definitely helped it. Deep dark colour, on the blacker side of red. Complex nose, with mix of dark fruit, a little spice (cinnamon?), liquorice maybe, and some woodland, mushroomy notes. On the palate, the fruit was slightly sour dark cherries, not as aggressively sour as before. Tannins not too evident, still pronounced acidity here though. The fruit sweetened a bit on the finish. Interesting long and quite complex. Food needed I think. Will go on beyond 2026 I think.
