Introduction
Did a sit down tasting with appetizers at Ryme Cellars. Great wines (lots of Italian Varietals grown in CA) and cool tasting room. Met one half of the winery (Megan). Good people.

Highly recommend these wines and visiting the winery. Especially if you like Italian Varietals - their Cabernet was excellent as well. See Keith Aker's tasting notes from April 28, 2025 for better tasting notes! I didn't post a tasting note about it, but their boxed red wine is excellent as well.
Only heard about this place because we stayed at a place in Guernville (The Stavrand) and they recommended the winery. Recommend that hotel as well!

Light red color, clear. On nose, dark cherry and green peppercorn. On palate, similar + red licorice. Medium acidity/tannins/body with a long finish. 92-93 range. Bought 2 bottles.

2022 Ryme Cabernet Sauvignon Massa Vineyard 93 Points

Tasted at winery. Great place to visit if in Sonoma.
Vineyard planted in '61 - aged 18 months in neutral oak. Black / red color. On nose, red fruit (cherry, tart cherry), green tobacco and floral notes. Medium body, medium+ acidity, medium tannins, very long finish. Palate consistent with nose. Really enjoyed this and bought 2 bottles. 93+/-

Didn't note color. Dark cherry, strawberry, tobacco and mint notes. Palate consistent with nose. Medium+acidity, medium body, medium tannins and long finish. Very nice. 93+/- Ordered 3 bottles.

2019 Ryme Aglianico Luna Matta Vineyard 93 Points

Tasted at winery.
Black in the glass. On nose, volcanic ash, burnt wood, black cherry and sweet cherry. Palate similar to nose. Full body, full tannins and medium+ acidity. I look forward to putting this into an Italian tasting. Very well made - bought 3 bottles. 93+/-
