Again, this tasting note is consistent with our previous bottles of this refreshing and enjoyable wine which paired very well with assorted charcuterie before Christmas dinner.
Decanted for about 30 minutes -- to allow this wine to come alive, while separating out a small amount of sediment. The nose was all about the red and dark red fruits, with a background of earth. All of these flavors followed on to the medium to plus bodied palate along with some black fruit, a touch of oak, integrated tannins and nicely balancing acidity. This wine should continue to hold but there's no reason to wait.

A full 20 minute decant allowed the wine to open and to separate out some sediment. Inviting nose of dark fruits and some earth. The medium plus bodied palate showed blackberry, black cherry and cranberry along with a hefty dose of spice. The acidity was well balanced, the tannins were well integrated, and the 16.6% abv was nowhere to be realized. This wine should continue to hold but is highly enjoyable now.
