This required 2 hours in a carafe to start showing itself. I’ll leave my other bottle in the cellar for a couple of years. Medium intensity on the nose with various shades of lemon, white peach, yellow plum, smoke, minerality, creamy notes. High acidity, long finish. 92-93

1985 Bouchard Père et Fils Puligny-Montrachet Flawed

This bottle was checked and recorked at the Domaine in 2025. Directly after opening it showed a hint of fruit, but within 10 minutes was in fast decline until nothing was left. At €185 for this bottle quite a disappointment

This required about 30min to open itself, initially I thought it was gone. But the 30min is worth the wait! Such a sexy wine with a lovely reduction, popcorn, oak, almonds, fruit, caramel. Medium+ acidity, long finish. 94-95
Despite it greatness it was outshone by Leroy Les Noels de Montbenault and Dureuil Janthial Gresigny VV tasted next to it

[Tasted blind] None of us ended up with New World Chardonnay, but not even at Chardonnay. Calls were all over the place. Quite some bitter notes, which brought me to Italy. Yellow fruit, some sur lie notes?. Medium+ acidity, medium+ finish
Not as typical as the previous vintages of this cuvee that I had, I missed the reductive notes

High intensity on the nose with initially strong reductive notes that became very elegant. Lemon, white peach, pear, light nutty, almond, some caramel. Medium+ acidity, long lingering finish. 95-96
What a great wine! It misses just a touch of concentration on the palate to be in the same league as for instance the PYCM Caillerets ‘17 I had this year, but what a structure this wine has. No hurry to drink

Impressive how this stood firm in a very impressive line-up. What a vineyard and winemaking skills to make this village wine from a modest appelation. Medium+ intensity on the nose with red fruit, some blueberry, sous bois. Medium+ acidity, medium tannins, medium+ finish.
Still very primary, no hurry

We had this with cantharel risotto, which was an excellent combination. Medium+ intensity on the nose with roses, rose petals, black cherry, some tar, licorice. Medium+ acidity, high tannins, long finish. 91-92
