Dinner with friends in a very special place

A wonderful dinner with friends in a special place that is consider hallowed ground for golfing greats and legends. We needed fuel before our round of golf at CPC the next day so that called for some great wines.

• 2008 Dom Pérignon Champagne Rosé 95 Points

  France, Champagne

  Fabulous Dom rose. We actually paired this with a panna cotta & berries dessert and it was wonderful. Not a typical pairing, but it worked.

• 1990 Château Montrose 98 Points

  France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Saint-Estèphe

  I've been blessed to taste this wine more than a dozen times before and it never disappoints. Of all the wines I've had in my lifetime, '90 Montrose still ranks in my top 5 best bottles of wine that I've ever tasted. The sun, earth, and moon must have all been in alignment when this wine was made. All the right parts in all the right places.

• 2009 Mongeard-Mugneret Grands-Echezeaux 94 Points

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru

  Simply awesome! Wonderful nose of strawberries, truffles, minerals, and Burgundy terroir. This is a wine for high class nobility. Drinking in a great spot right now. Yum!
