Tasted blind. Stewed red cherry, dark red cherry, rhubarb and strawberry. Medium acid and quite lifted but dense at the same time. Hint of bitterness that is the only thing that’s out of place. 93-94
Tasted blind. Similar nose to the 2017 Russo San Lorenzo. But richer, sweeter, more tannix, more closed. Fuller but not as elegant as the 17 Russo. Exuberant young fruit. Looking really good. 94
Tasted blind. Smells great - fresh and vibrant. Quite sweet and I'm getting vanilla oak, oak tannin and dark cherry and chocolate. Big wine. 140+ year old vines but I wish they'd dial it back. 93
Tasted blind. Fennel nose. Clean cherry, nice weight. Salty. Some cola. A bit ripe perhaps. It all made sense when I saw it was another Don Peppino. 93-94
2019 Girolamo Russo Etna Bianco Nerina 92 Points
