A red-fruited and lighter Nobile still with a Sangiovese core of acidity and softened tannins. Good energy. Good now.

Full-bodied with loads of ripe fruit. Tannins are soft and polished. It has the structure and balance to keep the lush fruit in check. Just delicious.

2005 Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste 93 Points

In a good place already and evolving slowly with a long life ahead. Beginning mature left-bank earthy notes plus tobacco, leather and cedar. Great balance and structure with tannins that are quite soft now.

This was the WOTN. Still young but still exceptionally good with its rich and dense fruit and notes of red-fruits, cherry, cedar and tobacco. Impeccable balance and very long.

This was a bit more evolved than earlier bottles and had some plum notes that lessened over time. Ripe and vibrant Sangiovese fruit but well balanced.

2009 Podere Il Carnasciale Il Caberlot 94 Points
Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT
From magnum. Dark colour. Some herbal and green pepper notes from the Cabernet Franc component of the grape. It has ample ripe, dark fruit with some sweetness. Long and vibrant with great balance. In a very good spot now with no rush.
