    Amazing perfume. Pretty, easy drinking wine with a bright acidic backbone and fine tannins. Delicious.

  • 2023 Tyrrell's Shiraz Old Hut

    Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley

    Earthiness on the nose. Rounded and fleshy, yet it still has fine, grippy tannins. Perfumed finish. Lacks a little drive at this stage.

  • 2023 Tyrrell's Shiraz Single Vineyard Stevens

    Increasing depth and underlying power compared with previous reds. Excellent length. Fine, beautiful tannins on the finish is the lasting impression.

    Pretty perfume on the nose. The palate displays impressive depth, rolling on a long wave. Juicy acidity and chalky tannins.

    A step up here. Refined and classy nose. Impressive shape and length for a lighter-styled wine. Penetrating tannins persist throughout the finish. A lovely thing to drink.

  • 2023 Tyrrell's Shiraz Single Vineyard NVC

    A lot of new oak on the nose and palate. More earthy and leathery than the preceding wines. Less fruity, thought what is there is darker in flavour. Refreshing acidity.

  • 2023 Tyrrell's Shiraz Old Patch "1867"

    Tea-like aromatics. The wine just flows and spreads across the palate. Not overtly powerful; just consistent. Long, long, finish. Easy drinking, like the Mother’s, but with more concentration and depth. Perhaps the star of the tasting.

    Very complete red wine. Perfumed, juicy, fresh, and with depth. Lone finish. A mix of bright and dark fruit. A buy, this vintage.
