A blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, two years on the lees. A well matured bottle, served at the right temperature in proper wine glasses. Which makes a big difference. Wonderfully expressive nose, red berries and citrus, spiced honey and brioche, elderflower, minerally freshness; rounded and juicy attack, bright and fresh but lacks a little power and conviction on the middle and back palate; light finish but very good resonance and length.
Mainly from Les Murets, with some Les Diognières blended in, 100% destemmed, 15% new oak. Not decanted, at my request served just below room temperature. Ripe and big (15.5% ABV), hovers between port-like spicy richness and minerally freshness, sweet autumnal (even slightly burnt) fruit, tannins are grippy (and just a bit drying) but well-managed and covered in flesh, manages a solid finish on the strength of its terroir. The critics all seem to like it a lot, I am not convinced yet.
