Sit down tasting, 09/12/13 vertical, this was easily the star. Ripe red and black cherry coming across as plump and fun, but with s slightly firm throughline that makes this even more interesting. Some small upside from here.

Sit down tasting. Alongside '19 Gevrey Village. Not necessarily richer than the Gevrey, but more depth already emerging with layers of red and black cherry with meaty spice in impressive combination for village wine.

Sit down tasting, in Rousseau young 1er Cru flight. Easily the star over the three vintages of Lavaux. Black and red cherry with just enough weight to show its 1er Cru pedigree, but faint meat notes and a very good sense of balance. Good now, some possible further upside.

Sit down tasting, in 17/19/20 vertical. Easily the star. More red than black fruits , but lots of ripe fruit that comes across as less gluttonous than the '20. Dense and meaty finish. So much upside here, I'd expect best 2030-2050

Sit down tasting, in 20/19/17 vertical. Easily the more approachable of the three vintages, but still quite fully harmonious for me with a clearly firm middle that is likely to soften. Again, very intriguing combination of layered red and black cherry aromas and flavors here.

Sit down tasting. Seemingly slightly past its peak, and while still good, there was something nearly muddled on the finish. With hindsight I think there was some heat damage or other problem here, given my exceptional experience to date with Rousseau's 2007s.

Sit down tasting, in 13/11/05 vertical. Powerhouse rich mostly black fruits with glorious balance and nearly unctuous textures that are the hallmark of some great 2005s. My WOTN. I have had this wine a few times, each 4-5 years apart since release, and it keeps getting better. There is likely still further upside from here.

Sit down tasting. certainly enjoyable, but not meeting your expectations from this great producer, even with the challenging vintage. Ripe and meaty, but lacking the cut or depth you almost always find in most vintages. My 2nd time tasting, with consistent notes.

Unmistakable charm and grace here, this doesn't demand your attention but rewards scrutiny with its very good balance and sneaky length. I did not notice the base, but expect it was likely the most recent release or close to that.

Walkaround tasting. Floral, red cherry, plus spice hints. Pinot character is wonderfully present, and I would not have thought this Extra Brut if the label didn't say so. Good balance and persistence. Probably my favorite champagne of the evening, and likely the least expensive. I don't recall the base vintage or disgorgement, but expect it was the most recent release, or close to that.
