Introduction

This was the regular gathering of the OG/Retired Guys (mostly) for lunch. We had a group of 6 welcoming Jsames onboard (DM,JV,BB,JG,MA,KB). The food was killer and the wines did not diappooint today. Great way to spend an afternoon.

  • NV Agrapart Champagne Les 7 Crus Extra-Brut 94 Points

    France, Champagne

    Pale gold color. Drank a glass over 30 minutes. This was impressive, pear, crystalline minerals, yeasty, with florals on the nose. The palate is really pretty too, baking spice, Meyer lemon, ginger, saffron, citrus zest, and pear. Very lifted and lovely. Loved it.

  • NV Krug Champagne Brut Grande Cuvée Edition 163eme 95 Points

    France, Champagne

    Light gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. PN37, C32, M31, 2007 base. Sumptuous nose of nougat, caramel, pain grille, chalk, lime zest and leon. The palate is layered and still so bright, replicating the nose like mRNA.

  • 2006 Daniel-Etienne Defaix Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet 94 Points

    France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru

    Light gold plus color. Drank a glass over an hour plus. Whoa, this was super; great crustacean earth, lots of very aromatic lime zest up front, lemon, waxy, exciting and long. Loved it.

  • 2010 Francesco Rinaldi e Figli Barolo Le Brunate 93 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

    Dark red color. Drank a glass over an hour or so. Ground spice and oregano, anise, dark fruits, shellac, dried earth, the tannins are relaxed and this has a cool mint infused finish. Showing really well. 93+pts.

  • 2006 Bel Colle Barolo Monvigliero 91 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

    Dark red plus color. Drank a glass over 45 minutes. Black cherries, ripe and full bodied, woody finish, some baked blackberries, more intense overall, with pleasant tannins; while this still feels a bit on the younger side.
