Very pale ruby. Nose shows bright, peppery red fruit. Medium bodied, light fresh red fruit, some nice complexity - touch of liquorice, light, fine tannins, vibrant acids, medium length finish. Attractive, very quaffable.

A bit reticent at first but opened up slowly to reveal red cherry fruit, autumnal notes, touch of tea. Medium bodied, quite fine boned, fine tannins, fresh acids, touch of tobacco coming through on the good length finish. Excellent.

This has a rich yet also quite fragrant nose - damsons, vanilla, rich earth. Quite full bodied, layered and plush with round but still notable tannins, dark cherry and damson fruit, vibrant acids, very good length slightly firm finish. Needs a bit more time but excellent wine.

Quite rich and dark fruited on the nose, with some tobacco and sesame seed but also showing perfume and freshness. Medium/full bodied, some richness but with soft tannins and nice fresh acidity, this is well balanced if not overly long on the finish. Drinking well now see no upside to holding this.

A touch slow out of the gates, even inscrutable initially, this reluctantly opened up to reveal tar, soil and star anise along with the dried red cherry fruit. It was medium/full bodied on the palate, with firm but fine tannins, pleasingly lean but quite long with some nice tannic bite on the finish still. Excellent wine in a traditional style, still with time in hand.

4/6, not decanted. Quiet dark and rich fruited, tar, truffle, some sandalwood notes. Medium bodied, quite dense, firm but fine tannins, fresh acids, good length finish. This bottle anyway quite youthful still, would have probably benefited from a larger glass.

Dark fruited, menthol, vanilla. Medium/full bodied, rich fruit, touch of soil and undergrowth, quite firm tannins monopolise the medium/good length finish.

Light, peachy, grapey, lightly sweet, quite simple but went well with the dessert.

1/1, under screw cap. Fragrant floral nose, some sherbetty lemon, touch of cream. Medium bodied, apples, limes, attractive sour edge, some nice creamy weight, fresh acidity carries a good length finish. Excellent.

Pale salmon. Nose is a touch mute, some dried flowers, whiff of raspberry. Medium bodied, raspberry, touch of cream, some weight, medium/good length finish. A bit pedestrian, possibly past its best.
