This was a one off dinner celebrating 5 of the chefs that were instrumental in the history of La Belle Vie. Each chef did a course with common themes from LBV dishes. Six of us attended this fun night (SS/JG,AS/CS,KB/VB).
NV Laurent-Perrier Champagne Grand Siècle Iteration 24 Grande Cuvée 96 Points
France, Champagne
Pale gold color. Drank a glass plus over an hour at the La Belle Vie 5 chefs tribute dinner at PS Steak. From 06/04/02, 58% Chardonnay, 42% Pinot Noir. So kind of a killer trio of vintages here, putting expectations rather high. Well, this did not diappoint; it was everything you expect in the classic LP style of crystalline purity and elegance. The pinot noir comes through b rightly showing the red fruits, strawberry, Mirabelle plum, ripe fruit blanced by crisp and racy acidity, lacy minerality and fine Chantilly notes on a long lifted finiesh of super fine bubbles. Loved it.
