  • 2021 Gaja Barolo Dagromis 87 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

Generally not a huge fan of barolo but will enjoy one here or there. This was not it.
Aromas: couldn't pick up much even after letting warm up
    Strong tannins, not enjoyable.
Chances are this is great with select food pairings, but not for sipping alone.

Closing

Presentation was ok but rote.
Wine selection was a good sample of what the Gaja family has to offer.
The classic Barbaresco was underwhelming--needs aging.
