Very mildly corked but actually was a better pairing with food than the Casanova di Neri. Not sure what that tells us. Hoping the 2nd bottle is not corked. Very pure, sensual, pretty fruit underneath the cork taint.
Bought off the list at the restaurant. Complete doppleganger for a natural Beaujolais, more Fleurie than Morgon. No varietal character coming through, but very easy to drink and very enjoyable. Not a serious wine, but a fun one. I don't think it will get better, drink up!

Not a wine made to my liking, very modern in its construction. Didn't go too well with food, but was an okish pairing with steaks. Bought early during my wine journey. No joy in this wine for me.
Bought off the list at the restaurant. A very serious jump from the Mayer Sangiovese. I don't have too much experience with young Syrah, so I'm not sure I'm a great judge for it. For me, closer to Northern Rhones than Barossa Valley typicities. My feeling is that wine is still too young, even with extended decanting, it didn't fully unfurl. There is a hint of bitterness in the finish, which was a bit distracting. Overall, happy to try.
