Definitely an exceptional wine for 2006; dark, liquorice, cassis, incense, smooth and well-integrated; graphite tannins; unripe berries; Pauillac-style powdered wild berries (Ricola); wide alcohol on back palette; 13pc; understated; hazelnut nose; metallic beady tannins; funghal;

Caramel nose; 14.5pc, was chilled and decanted; ripe and concentrated, not exactly Napa but close; cassis; syrupy, like medicine; unbalanced;
Grapefruit, lime, melon; anise; backdrop of oak; stony
First Pappy and first bourbon. Very long nose of caramel and vanilla; hints of tropical fruits; thick texture;
Drank alongside Pappy 23y; I prefer this given lighter texture and a less overwhelmingly vanilla nose; more minerally and peppery;
