For me, this is what champagne is about. Lean and focused on the palate, but very broad and yeasty on the nose. Powerful, but still all coiled up. Just wonderful depth. This is probably at the beginning of it's maturity. No rush.
I really like this but it paled against the '96 Krug and was lacking a bit of freshness. Still, mature and fans out over the palate with golden fruit and toasty notes. Never heavy ang quite focused. Very good, just hoping for more.

Didn't spend much time with this. Hints of reduction but it was quite open, without the energetic core of the B Ente. More golden fruit, rounder than the others (with exception of Ramonet) and very long stony finish. Quite good.

Such an emotional experience. Small pour. Initially decanted and in the decanter had a wonderful spherical nose of hoisin and refined herbal notes. An hour later in the glass it was browner and lacking some vigor. Was still wonderful, if not transcendent. Phenomenal complexity given the lackluster reputation of the vintage, with hint of hoisin, dried fruit, and fine herbal complexity. Lengthy finish. Wonderful.

I had this a step above the Gros Frere. They were quite similar but this was seeming more pure, candied cherry notes. Still quite expressive on the nose and palate and notable polished texture. Terrific depth. Maybe less oak than the Gro Frere? Giving it a more defined, narrow expression, maybe lighter than expected.

This was all there, with exotic expansive nose with hoisin, dried fruits and sweet safrin notes. Palate was rounded and full, mouth coating, and lacking just a bit of purity compared to the A Gros. A really fantastic paring. Seems to be fully mature. Oak influence is notable here but seems balanced. Maybe better than expected.

Blacker fruited than the other burgs. Maybe a bit reticent, with courser tannins, but wonderful depth and spice notes, really showing it's Vosne pedigree.

Maybe wine of the day? Or year? Just phenomenal in all respects. Spherical and balanced, with a pure core of red berry fruit that was penetrating and focused. Lengthy stony finish. After the Vosne wines this stood up as Gevrey. Lighter, but still coiled and powerful. Have to thing this is nearing peak.

Drinking beautifully, with crystalline red and blue fruits. Nose was open and expressive, oak well integrated. I a much better spot than the '09. There's still much to gain with age, but beautiful polished wine that's hard not to enjoy now.

Just an awkward spot. Got better with air but never caught up with the '17. Oak stook out, giving it a dry toasty austerity. Back to blue fruits, just in the background to the structure. Came into balance with air, but never jumped to head of the class on this day. Best to hold.

I thought Beze and Chambertin were same level. This was redder fruited, and spicy, but still rather suave tannins for young wine. Astounding young wine with character that stays with you days and weeks later. Complete wine, with considerable depth. Surprisingly enjoyable at this early stage.

Served blind. A bit blocky and volatile, but has a nice mature core of dried fruits and game. Tannins a bit course, prominent and angular. Guessed Gevrey, thinking CG, but probably would have guessed '94 or '96.

Solid, and at the end of a long tasting so really didn't give this it's due. Rather bright acidity and fine tannins, leans towards a darker red fruited profile. Still quite polished and shows it's Vosne roots, but no fireworks today. Best to hold.

Small pour. Coche profile with some flinty goodness to the yellow fruit. Perfectly ripe and in balance, quite suave. Only the softer acidity gives away it's age.

Had pretty late in the evening. This was showing well, just a hint of reduction. Otherwise pure red fruits on a polished palate. Minimal tannins. Hints of some Vosne spice but rather shy on the nose. Needs some more time.
Nice surprise. Definitely drinks above it's level. This is concentrated and focused, with a crystalline profile to it's pure red fruit. This bottle was crushed.
Sassicaia at a burg tasting? Why not?!? This was delicious, still young, with blue and dried red fruit profile. Tannins were notable, but polished and high quality, with a lengthy toasty finish. Hard to put in context but this was delicious.
Served blind, most thought this was a much younger burgundy. Didn't have GC weight, but absolutely terrific nose, freshness and poise. Screamed Oregon to me (but wasn't blind) with wild strawberry notes and loamy spice notes. Palate so fresh and focused, intense, but lighter on the palate and finish. Beautiful wine.
On a day of dramatic red wines, this was up there. So distinctive. It's super young, but there's a young blue/purple fruit thing going on I can't say I've ever had in another Napa Mtn cab. It's cab, so it's still dense and concentrated, but so fresh giving it an amazing transparent profile. Not a of oak influence. This is highly structured and I tasting only 1-2hrs in the decanter. Probably needs lots of air if you are tannin adverse. Calmed down a lot on day 2, but still very tannic. Tannins were high quality and polished, so despite the scale I didn't find it particularly austere. (I drink a fair amount of barolo and tannins generally don't bother me)

Count me as a fan. This was ripe and rather broad on the nose and palate. Very ripe with ripe but not tropical notes. Palate has a nice core of energy, and it narrowed down unto the finish. Shows some stone/chalk. Quite good, I suspect the future will be bright here.
