From Coravin. Slightly lean, pyrazine, blackcurrant, a little sweet spice, cedar, aa little forest floor and leather in support. Pyrazine grows with time. Juicy tends to medium plus intensity acidity, fleshy, silky textured tannins, flavours slightly dialled back but this is balanced and very pleasant.
From Coravin. Brambles, blackcurrant, reticent initially but opens to show some fruit lozenge, cedar, slight leather, a little sweet spice. Juicy, fleshy, the tannins integrated, drying silky, fruit present, dark hued, sweet spice. Long. Nice.
From Coravin. Medium minus intensity aromas offer a little smoky and herbaceous note, tar, brambles, slight meaty underpin, touch of alcohol prickle, a touch of red hued fruits. Not a very nice nose. In the mouth more of the same, slightly sharp acid, muted fruit. Not very nice. Bah.
From Coravin. Red and blackcurrant, sweet spice, a little peppery note, slightly jubey underpin, slight fruit lozenge, cedar, touch of pyrazine. Medium plus intensity acidity lends crunchiness to the fruit, oaky tannins are slightly bitter on the finish but in a positive rather than negative sense; lending complexity, touches of sweet spice, cedar. Okay.
From Coravin. Blackcurrant, plums, a little brambles, sweet spice, a slightly baked quality tending to dried fruit. In the mouth there is medium plus intensity acidity, an initial fresh and slightly sharp black fruit splash then silky drying tannins on the front of the palate and a little non intrusive alcohol warmth on the finish. Simple, nice.
From Coravin. Touch of crème du cassis is here initially, there is also a slightly off note here as well. Hmm. 2nd bracket but this is the glass I used for the 2011 as well. I think the problem is with the glass not the wine. Fresh glass helps this show a lot of resh blackcurrant, still has that creme du cassis and some fruit lozenge, sweet spice, cedar. Nice nose. Juicy, fleshy, fruit as per the nose, drying slightly powdery tannins the fruit present long, sweet spice, slight non intrusive alcohol warmth on the finish. Nice.
From Coravin. More savoury and earthy than the first tow wines in the bracket, pyrazine notes behind black and red hued Autumn fruits, cedar. On the palate more of the same, crunchy black fruits, backed by sweet spice and a little pyrazine, tannins have a little green edge. I wonder if they've done some earl y harvesting for lots in this vintage, nice though, tannins are drying and grippy. Nice though.
From Coravin. Blackcurrant covers the spectrum from fresh to jammy but more to the latter, a touch of creaminess, sweet spice, cedar, a little earthy note. Juicy tends to medium plus intensity acidity, that creamy note translates to the palate, fruit slightly muted, oak drying and bitter, slight out of whack, tannic texture is quite woody. Young.
