• 2015 Gunderloch Niersteiner Pettenthal Riesling Großes Gewächs 90 Points

  Germany, Rheinhessen

  Nose > Rich & lush, with yellow peach & orange blossom, but already a hint of petrol lurking ... (this bottle had been opened beforehand, & the petrol is probably not as much of a danger sign as I originally thought it to be).
  Palate > Nice yellow peach, but a slightly disjointed feel between fruit, sugar & acidity; not totally together yet.
  Med/low intensity. Med length & acidity.

• 2017 Kruger-Rumpf Im Pitterberg Riesling Großes Gewächs 91 Points

  Germany, Nahe

  Nose > White peach/nectarine, coconut water & egg custard. Yellow orchard & yellow tropical fruit with air.
  Palate > Peaches, cream & spice. Touch of skin contact.
  Med Intensity, med acidity, med length.

  Nose > Spicy/fruity/flowery. White nectarine, marzipan, white flowers. Spice dominates with air.
  Palate > Creamy/spicy/fruity. White nectarine, lime flesh, lime juice & citrus oil.
  Med intensity, length & acidity.

  Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

  Nose > Lime-oil, egg custard, liquid slate, white flowers, white nectarine, rosewater & blood orange.
  Beautifully round.
  Palate > Big, intense & round. White nectarine & lime-oil, with lime & grapefruit zest.
  Med+ intensity, med+ length, med+ acidity.
  A beauty already.

  (93+ Points)
  Nose > Big, round, flowery. White peach, white nectarine, pungent & rich.
  Palate > Lemon-lime, creamy, grapefruit, orange oil & hint of skin contact.
  Big & round. Med+ Intensity. Great length & depth. Already all of a piece; impressive.
  Came 1st place for me in a bunch of 8 GG's from '15, '16 & '17.

  Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

  (92+ Points)
  Nose > Fresh green apple, white nectarine, egg custard with hints of Chartreuse & peach pit.
  Palate > Lemon/lime-pith/zest with elegant yellow orchard fruit.
  Slender, muscular front palate opens up dramatically to a big, round & refined citrus Bomb.
  Good acidity. Med+ intensity & length.
