Wonderful trip with a group of good friends starting in Cannes then on to Avignon, Lyon, Cote d'Or, and Paris. I didn't include any of the wines that we tasted at the Domaines. Only those where we enjoyed the full bottle together.
In a word, grateful. So blessed to be able to drink such amazing wines.
2015 Dom Pérignon Champagne 92 Points
France, Champagne

I enjoy this more than the ‘13 but less than the ‘12 vintage. It has a little more tension but is fresher and leaner than the flabbier and juicier ‘13. Will hold on my bottles to see how this develops in time.

Young, structured, and yet approachable. Still infanticide at this young age to open this wine.

Day 2 luncheon. Wow. The cork was in great shape for its age. This was fully mature but absolutely beautiful and elegant. Drinking this on a yacht off the coast of Nice was special.

Served at the end of the night back on the yacht. It was served a little too cold for my liking, but once it warmed up, it was delicious. A good vintage for M-M Grands Ech.

First dinner in Gevrey Chambertin. We couldn't believe the incredible pricing on DRC on a restaurant menu. This was my first DRC C-C and I really liked it. However, I would never spend what the 2nd hand market is charging for it in the US.

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, La Tâche Grand Cru
(6/10/2025)
Tasted side by side with the 2007 DRC Richebourg at a great Bistro in Gevrey Chambertin. The La Tache had the most intoxicating nose and layers upon layers of fruit and complexity. While I preferred the Richebourg for drinking right now, the La Tache is the better of the two wines, especially if you give it 5 more years to evolve.

Tasted side by side with the 2006 La Tache at a great Bistro in Gevrey Chambertin. The Richebourg was so beautiful and elegant, but it had such a powerful perfumed nose. Borderline exotic! Exceptional.
