    Bir Yudum Şarap Derneği: In Pursuit of Resistant Varieties: Taneanda: Tasted on 06/08/2026 as part of a vertical tasting at Bir Yudum Sarap Dernegi ("Direnclı Cesitlerin Izinde: Taneanda". Resistant Varieties: Taneanda vertical). Tank sample. On the nose; a characteristic, signature aroma. Very similar to the nose we encountered when tasting the 2024 vintage. More tropical fruits are apparent: banana, mangosteen, along with additional tropical flower notes. Aromatic intensity is high, bordering on very high. On the palate; acidity is pleasant, fruit intensity is medium-plus, body is medium-plus, finish is long. The characteristic aromas from the nose carry through to the palate, with tropical aromas widespread. The wine opened up beautifully in the glass over time. Thyme, rosemary, spiced and floral notes emerged. Quite enjoyable overall. Aromatic profile is beautiful, and closely resembles the 2024 vintage when it was first released.

Resistant Varieties: Taneanda vertical). On the nose; compared to both the 2025 tank sample and to when we previously tasted this wine, the nose appears somewhat subdued. A slightly off-putting aroma is also present, somewhat suppressing the nose. This dissipated as the wine opened up. On the palate; the aromatic structure is similar, but aromatic intensity is lower. There is no deterioration in the wine, but the decline in aromatic expressiveness compared to its previous state has pushed the wine back somewhat.

Resistant Varieties: Taneanda vertical). On the nose; similar to when we previously tasted this wine, the nose appears somewhat subdued. There are also off-aromas present. Slight barnyard, cigarette ash. On the palate; alcohol is somewhat dominant. The aromatic expressiveness has diminished slightly compared to before. Past its pleasant drinking window.

On the palate; acidity is high, tannins are medium-plus, finish is medium-plus. Aromatic intensity is acceptable, but lacks the concentration of the 2022. Fruitiness is high but body is medium, finish is medium.

Resistant Varieties: Taneanda vertical). On the nose; black fruits are more dominant. Cooked, ripe fruits, blackberry molasses. On the palate; aromatic intensity is very high. Together with the 2022 tank sample, one of the two most concentrated wines in the tasting. Finish is long, complex, multi-layered.

Resistant Varieties: Taneanda vertical). On the nose; smells like a sweet wine. Port tawny, cherry liqueur. On the palate; very soft and rounded. There were some faults on the palate initially, but the wine opened up as it aired. Mushroom, black olive, blueberry jam on the palate. A very faint corked (bouchonne) sensation. Considering this wine was made from a 3-year-old vineyard, it is a quite surprising wine. At the end of its life.

Resistant Varieties: Taneanda vertical). Tank sample. On the nose; bitter almond, light violet, blueberry, cherry. Aromatic intensity is medium-plus. On the palate; aromatic intensity is high, with a more red-fruit driven profile compared to the Fenolya Caladoc. Finish is medium-plus, aromatic intensity is medium. Acidity is higher, more red-fruited, and feels younger than the Fenolya. A different style. The Fenolya is more personally appealing.

Resistant Varieties: Taneanda vertical). On the nose; sour cherry, mahleb (St. Lucie cherry), light mahleb cookie, menthol, blueberry. Aromatic intensity is medium. On the palate; aromatic intensity is higher, tannins are high but slightly angular. Needs a bit more aging to soften. Finish is approaching long, and quite sweet but from fruitiness. Fruit aromatic intensity is high. A wine with aging potential. Compared to previous Fenolya wines tasted, the oak influence is less pronounced and not dominant. Will develop beautifully with age. Bitter chocolate and light smoked meat aromas began to emerge as it opened up.

Resistant Varieties: Taneanda vertical). On the nose; aromatic intensity is approaching medium, with more earthy nuances predominating over fruitiness. On the palate; body is medium, aromatic intensity is medium, oak is dominant. Compared to the 2022, aromatic complexity is considerably lower, finish is medium. Well outside the classic Caladoc profile. With aging, tannins have softened and it has become more drinkable than in previous tastings, but it still falls short in terms of concentration and complexity.

Resistant Varieties: Taneanda vertical). On the nose; quite similar to Floreal. Tropical fruits, banana, pineapple, with a light acetone/Japanese adhesive note. On the palate; slightly petillant/spritzed. Acidity is medium-plus. Acetone/Japanese adhesive aromas are dominant on the palate. Finish is medium, with bubble gum notes and a slightly bitter finish. Palate profile was not particularly appealing personally.

Resistant Varieties: Taneanda vertical). Bubbles dissipated quickly. On the nose; citrus, light sour/yeasty bread. On the palate; acidity is medium, body is medium, more fruity than the Trocken, finish is slightly sweet, finish is short, aromatic intensity is low. The grape variety shows potential but this is not a very well-made wine. More fruity than the Trocken but with a sweeter finish.
