On the nose very ripe pear, cookie, brioche, slight cheese, intensity medium+. In the glass mousse high but on the palate medium, aromatic intensity also medium on the palate. Finish medium. The aroma profile on the palate didn't quite suit me; the very ripe pear aroma evokes a sense of spoilage. Not a bad wine but the aromatic structure didn't appeal to me. Score: 88

100% Pinot Meunier. On the nose cranberry, sweet jam croissant, intensity close to high. On the palate salty-salty, quite mineral; compared to the sweetness on the nose, the palate structure is quite different. There's an aroma I can't quite identify, leaning a bit toward tomato leaf and slight rust. The same issue from the first wine is present here too - the mousse continually appears in the glass but doesn't fill the mouth and the finish is short. Score: 88
Winery Visit: Pol Couronne: Tasted on 5/16/2026 during an individual tasting session at Pol Couronne Winery. On the nose, full pastry, light coffee, slightly spicy aromas. Thyme, tomato stem, red pepper flakes. Quite a different aromatic profile. On the palate, this is the wine with the highest acidity, with elegant and fuller mousse, and a long finish. There is an aged aromatic profile on the palate, but it's definitely not over the hill. Could age a bit more. As the winery also said, this is a different wine, not one that everyone will like, but those who do will love it greatly. Score: 91
