Introduction
What an honour to go through the line-up with Louis-Michel. These were simply incredible wines, from start to finish. Delicious from the bat, though clearly promising for encounters down the line. Can't wait to try more wines from this fantastic producer!
2022 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Grandes Vignes Blanc 92 Points

Nose: Good purity, some oak, christmas spices, growing with air, decent concentration.
Palate: A lot of oomph, yellow fruited and expansive, long stony finish. Lychee with more air alongside some peaches.

So generous nose, bright fruit tones. So charming, yet there is immense depth.
Pretty palate, very bright in profile, a lot of structure, but still so refined.

Almost a bit timid coming after the Colombière, but the depths in the background is palpable. Black cherries the dominant force.
The palate is just so classy. Yes, a lot of oak barrel, but all balanced and SO layered. Big, serious wine. Long, epic finish with a lot of rose petals.
The concentration is just stupendous for a village, kind of unbelievable.

A bit more shy coming after the Villages. The nose is stony with red, yet serious fruits. Growing with air, vanilla coming more to the front.
Velvety, silky palate, so delicious, with fine structure. Almost difficult to pin down anything specific. The classy structure stands out. Homogeneous.
More oak with air, also a growing green and floral component.
With even more air, this became much more elegant, approaching the floating feel of the Reignots. This needs more time to fully express itself, I think.

This was one of my favourites tonight.
The nose showed pretty and bright fruits, redcurrant, high pitched in its red sweetness.
The palate is just unbelievably pretty, just amazing. After swallowing, it fills up the whole mouth with elegance and red fruited grace. It is also floral, floating, medium-bodied and so elegant.
This is kind of magical, it went straight to my heart tonight.

Omg. This is the best Burgundy- and possibly any single- wine I've had. I have never in my life smelled a wine that smells airy. But this somehow did.
The grace is absolutely off the charts. This is floating perfection. Weightless intensity like you wouldn't believe, because the concentration here is extreme underneath.
All red fruits.
Not sure if it actually is a very complex wine, for me, that was completely irrelevant in meeting this wine. It was all about ethereal expression of grace.
The finish is endless, all in the same character, just floating, red, graceful, godly clouds of wine emotions.

This came across as the least seamless of the wines tonight. Certainly good, but compared to the rest, it felt slightly un-integrated. Red fruits, but is it almost a bit hot?
The palate is classy, though, a bit darker fruited, nice, but perhaps a bit more pointy compared to the other wines.
I really liked a bottle of the 2021 vintage of this tasted a month later, so perhaps this could have benefitted from air. Or maybe the 21 is just a very good vintage for this cuvée, I don't know.

The nose showed juicy purple-ish fruits. More direct than the Reignots. Some musk, leather. With air, this evolves quickly, picking up red fruited concentration.
Serious palate, a lot of structure, but wow, the integration is real. A jacked wine, so much stuffing.
With air, so much is happening, gaining fantastic balance and a growing elegance. There is SO much here, desperately wanting to sit down with this wine over a 6 hour period (which I did a few weeks later, and oh my, was that an experience..!).
97 at first, 98 at the end of the tasting, and possibly/probably even higher with more time

2022 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair La Romanée 99 Points

The nose showed darker fruits than Reignots, though it is always evolving, each whiff reveals something different. With air, the fruit spectrum turned to red.
Initially, the palate was also more in the purple spectre, with structure so classy it is hard to believe. It is layered like no other wine I've tried before, with layers of spicy fruits raining down on me. Perfectly balanced, not a hair out of place. There is oak, fruits, spice and rocks in perfect harmony.
The mouthfeel is palate staining and persistent, the finish lasts for as long as you are willing to pay attention to it.
With air, this becomes ever more ethereal, and strikes a balance between the muscles of the Ech and the grace of the Reignots. Truly the best of both worlds. At the end of the tasting, this is close to perfect, red fruited all the way, perfectly integrated and simply amazing.
