Second half of a coravined bottle left upright in the fridge for a week or so. Decanted into a half bottle decanter and left for 45 mins before drinking.
Woof. Purple / garnet colour. Vibrant, grippy tannins. Some violet. Proper density on the palate. Most importantly though - it sends a shiver down your spine. This is the real deal.
People say that the 18s need time - well, this definitely has a long way to go, and I guess you need to be a *bit* of a tannin fiend to love this...but my gosh, if this never got any better, it would still be an excellent wine. Yummers.
From magnum. This is in the zone! Light lemon biscuit character to it, with some depth to follow. More than an aperitif this was a wine to contemplate.
This is on song! Coming to believe that 2001 may be up there with 98 and 99 in the Musar Pantheon. This is civilised - colours between the lines, but unmistakably Musar. Went very well with the food.
Hmmm - unmistakably corked but...it's kinda wild how much this Musar still has going on beneath that. Went straight down the sink - I wish I'd had another, an in condition bottle would have been magnificent, I think.
