Introduction

Jamie, Melissa, Jason and I tried some solid wines and great food at the Kenwood. Jamie and his wife staying right by there so perfect venue for this.

Flight 1 (4 Notes)

  • 2024 Pášxa White Wine Rockgarden Vineyard 96 Points

USA, Oregon, The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater

    (7/2/2026)

Glasvin Universal. Natural cork. Wow is this good. 58% Marsanne, 41% Roussanne and 1% Viognier. Minerality along with lemon, melon, exotic spices, white flowers, honey, apricots, stone, dust and matchstick. Medium to long finish and nice acidity. Just a real stellar offering and for $100 a bargain in my opinion. Outstanding. 96+ points
Day 2: Rocking as well. Lemon, minerals, white flowers, dust, stone, melon, spices and a touch of honey. Super complex and wonderful effort. 96 points
Day 3: Dropping off a little bit. Chalk, lemon, spices, white flowers, candied pineapple, stone and matchstick. Medium plus finish. 93 points
Recommendation: These will age for a decade without any worries. Absolutely stunning effort.

  • 2021 Joseph Phelps Pinot Noir Bootlegger's Hill 91 Points

USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast

    (7/1/2026)

Day 1: Glasvin Obsession Pinot Glass. Diam 10. Glad I opened this for a dinner tomorrow. This is why 3 Day Wine Review was invented. Ripe fruit featuring strawberries, raspberries and cherry. Oak, smoke and earth. Too big for my palate but the Napa Cab lovers would enjoy this. Will revisit before taking to Kenwood tomorrow otherwise will bring a more balanced offering. 88 points
Day 2: Glad I opened this the night before as much better on day 2. New World to the max with cherry, strawberries, wood, smoke, spices and earth. While I would not enjoy this style on a regular basis it was worth trying for sure. 91 points
Recommendation: New World Style and decant if trying on day 1 for 4 plus hours.
