This was a regular tasting for the Heidi's Redux group. We had quorum present with 6 of us on hand (CV,LI,SS,DD,KB,CS). It was a wonderful evening on the patio at CB. Food always delivers and the wines were right on stride. Thanks everyone, a great Heidi's, as always.
2008 Billecart-Salmon Champagne Cuvée Nicolas François 95 Points
France, Champagne
Light gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. Wow, this was zinging, tons of fresh air, lively yeastiness, citrus, lemon, brisk and crisp, ultra refined palate, saffron, candied lemon, baking spice and excellent length. Best bottle of this so far.

Light medium gold color. Drank a glass over an hour plus. So much crustacean character and dried earth, cedar dust, musty earth, lemon zest, lemon tart, pear, such purity and intensity, dried herbs, with lots of mouth watering acidity and dry extract. 95+ to 96pts.

2010 Louis Jadot Bonnes Mares 95 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Medium dark red color. This had just under 2 hours of air. Drank a glass over an hour plus. Wow nose, love it. Powerful nose, very earthy, leather, perfumed with dark berries, high toned earth, mineral and great phenolics. Good power and depth, tannins and round and silken, should get even better. Loved it. 94+ to 95pts.

2007 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Santo Stefano Albesani di Nieve 93 Points
Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco
Dark red color. Drank a glass over an hour. Same bottle as Chablis28. He had the prep details and a good summary in his note as well. Bigger with darker fruits, plum, black cherry notes, vitamins, iodine, pretty vigorous, nice fruit, tannins are fairly relaved. 93+pts.

1996 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Villero di Castiglione Falletto 94 Points
Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
Medium red color. About 90 minutes of slow-O time. Drank a glass over an hour. Juicy cherry, dried herbs, earth, subtle tobacco. Still pretty brisk on the palate, pliable tannins, soil, medicinal, a little metallic on the nose and musty too, but as this opens the fruit becomes more lush and and robust. In good shape. I like the overall character here, nice balance and poise.
