Introduction

Salil came over for dinner. Amy made lasagna and I cooked up some Italian sausage.

    Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

    [Pop and pour.] Beautiful nose of sweet citrus. Rich, crisp, complex. A delicious dry-tasting wine. Amy loves it.

  • 1999 Roagna Barbaresco Pajè 94 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco

    [Decanted at 3:30.] 6pm. Dark red and black fruit and black licorice. Still a bit tannic on the mid-palate.
    7pm and served a little cooler: Showing more red fruit, licorice, and tea. Long and complex with cherries and tannin on the long finish. Earthy. Not as polished as Luca's wines, but a wine of great character from his dad. Should drink well for at least another decade.
